In this step, you will set up a connection to your data source. This is the first and most important step in configuring your data product, as it defines where Crux will retrieve data. Keep in mind that once a source connection is established for a data product, it cannot be changed.

Create a new source connection

  • Click New Source Connection to create a new connection.

  • Provide a unique Connection Name to easily identify this connection in the future.

  • Choose a Connection Method from the available options, such as FTP, SFTP, GCS, S3, or other supported methods.

  • Follow the Source Connections guide to complete the setup, including entering any required credentials based on your selected method. Supported methods include Snowflake, BigQuery, S3, GCS, FTP, and SFTP.

Once you’ve selected the connection method, you’ll need to enter the relevant credentials and any required details based on the method chosen. Follow the prompts in the Source Connections guide to complete the setup. Supported methods include Snowflake, BigQuery, S3, GCS, FTP, and SFTP.

Use an existing source connection

If your organization already has source connections configured, you can reuse them:

  • Go to the Existing Source Connection tab and search for the appropriate connection using the search bar.

  • Choose the existing connection that matches your data product’s needs to streamline the setup process.

Important reminder: Once you set the source connection and proceed, it cannot be changed. If you need to connect to a different data source later, you will have to create a new data product.

Next steps

After configuring the source connection, click Connect to proceed to the next step: selecting data.
