As an Editor or an Admin, you can configure Notification Rules either as part of a new data product onboarding or at any time in your account ⚙️ Settings. A Notification Rule specifies a combination of what dataset to monitor, what event(s) to monitor, and delivery channel(s) for delivering notifications when those event(s) occur.
Create a Notification Rule
To create a notification rule, complete these steps:
Go to the Rules menu of your account ⚙️ Settings.
Click the Create Notification Rule button.
Give your rule a unique name to help you find it in the future.
Select the dataset from the drop-down list of all datasets available in your organization. You will receive notifications whenever the selected dataset is impacted.
Specify what Events you are interested in, and Crux will notify you when they occur. You can pick from:
Missed delivery
Late delivery
Failed delivery
Successful delivery
Select one or more Delivery channels:
You will receive notifications via each delivery channel you specify here.
You can specify multiple delivery channels if you prefer to receive identical alerts via multiple delivery methods.
If you do not see a Delivery channel you would like to use, go to the Channels tab, create a new delivery channel, and then return to this step to continue.
Click the Create Notification Rule button on the dialog to save the new notification policy for the given dataset and its tables.
After completing this step, you will begin receiving notifications for every occurrence of any events specified in the Notification Rule for the given dataset and all of its tables provided the dataset has been activated.
Edit a Notification Rule
To edit a notification rule, complete these steps:
Go to the Rules menu of your account ⚙️ Settings.
Locate the notification rule you want to modify. The Search field in the Rules menu can help you do this.

Make changes. You can change all rule attributes, including its name, monitored dataset, events, and distribution channels.
Click the Update button on the dialog to save your changes.
Delete a Notification Rule
To delete a notification rule, complete these steps:
Go to the Rules menu of your account ⚙️ Settings.
Find the notification rule you would like to delete. Use the Search field in the Rules menu to help you locate it.
