When a notable event occurs related to your monitored dataset, Crux can send notifications via email, Webhooks, Google Cloud Pub/Sub, and Amazon SQS channels. These various platforms are what we call Distribution Channels. As an Editor or an Admin, you can configure Distribution Channels at any time in your account ⚙️ Settings.
Create a distribution channel
To create a distribution channel, complete these steps:
Go to the Channels menu of your account ⚙️ Settings.
Select the type of distribution channel you would like to create. Select from
Click on the Add new channel button, where the exact text of the button will match the type of channel you are creating.
Provide the information required to configure the distribution channel.
Click the Add button on the dialog to save the new distribution channel.
Now you are ready to use this Distribution Channel in both existing and new notification rules for any data product and its datasets.
Edit a distribution channel
To edit a distribution channel, complete these steps:
Go to the Channels menu of your account ⚙️ Settings.
Locate the distribution channel you would like to modify.
Click on the ... menu located at the end of the distribution channel row, and click on the ✏️ Edit option.
Make changes. You have the flexibility to change all attributes of the distribution channel, including its name and configurations.
Click the Update button on the dialog to save your changes.
Delete a distribution channel
To delete a distribution channel, complete these steps:
Go to the Channels menu of your account ⚙️ Settings.
Locate the distribution channel you would like to delete.
Click on the ... menu located at the end of the distribution channel row, and click on the Delete option. This action cannot be undone.
