Crux uses notifications to help you stay informed about the operational health and quality of your data.

Overview

As an Editor and an Admin for your organization, you can configure Notification Rules for selected datasets to receive alerts for events such as a dataset failure, delay, a data quality issue, or a successful dataset workflow run. After you activate a dataset, should any of the events you have included in the Notification Rule occur, you will receive a notification via the distribution channels configured in the rule.

When a triggering event occurs, Crux can send an alert to a variety of Distribution Channels as described in the Notification Overview. You can receive notifications via Email, Webhooks, Google Cloud Pub/Sub, or Amazon AWS SQS.

You can configure notification preferences for a specific dataset using one of two ways: when creating the data product as part of its onboarding, or later in the account βš™οΈ Settings. Crux also has the flexibility to allow making changes to the Notification Rules and Distribution Channels at any time by allowing you to change monitored events applicable to a selected dataset, and distribution channels for delivering notifications.

Closing Thoughts

You have to have an Editor or an Admin role to configure Notification Rules and Distribution Channels for your organization.
